ET broke the news that ‘High School Musical’ star Vanessa Hudgens would be in a new CBS Films project but the star will be joined by Mary-Kate Olsen and Alex Pettyfer to put a modern-day twist on an old classic!

According to Variety the two young stars have joined the cast of ‘Beastly’, a modern-day take on Beauty and the Beast, with Vanessa playing the role of the fair maiden.

Set in Manhattan, the movie tells the story of a handsome rich kid with a mean streak (Pettyfer). When he ditches a date(Olsen), a curse is placed upon him, turning him into everything he hates. The grotesque transformation leaves him with the seemingly impossible task of finding true love to break the ugly spell.

‘Beastly’ has begun shooting as of June 13 in Montreal,Quebec,Canada.
